KRUŠKA

A Williams pear rakija, elegantly dry, with a rich but gentle nose and an intense muscat taste. We made the first batches fifteen years ago from bought-in fruit, but the aroma so delighted us that the very next year we planted our own pear orchards in the village of Zabrdica near Valjevo — and for years now we have used the ripe, juicy fruit of our own plantings.

Journey
From field to bottle
I
The land
It all begins on our estate in Zabrdica, where we grow our own plums, pears, quinces and sour cherries on about 50 hectares.
II
The fruit
We pick only once the fruit reaches full ripeness and the natural peak of its sweetness, aroma and quality.
III
Fermentation
Under controlled fermentation, the foundations of each rakija's future scent and taste are laid.
IV
Distillation
Distilling twice in hand-made copper pot stills, we keep only the heart of the distillate — the purest and most valuable part of the rakija.
V
Ageing
All our rakijas mature in the cellar for years. The white ones keep the freshness and true taste of the fruit; the amber ones slowly gain their characteristic aromas, complexity and fullness in oak casks.
Awards
- Grand gold medal — the „blind test“ of natural home-made rakijas, Novi Sad
